The compensation disk - On the area of the airfield with earthwork the remnants of a large compensation disk were discovered from the 30iger years. It concerns here a large swivelling platform, on which also large airplanes, e.g. the high-speed bomber at that time Junkers Ju 88 could be positioned. One used at that time in the machines among other things as navigational instrument a magnetic compass. The metallic airframe and other technique components caused in principle a deviation of the magnetic on-board compass. On the platform the machine was turned now into the material magnetic north direction. Afterwards corresponding adjusting work took place at the on-board compass, so that after magnetic compensation this instrument indicated the accurate north direction. These data were examined, by further-rotating the airplane around pre-defined degree data on the disk. Unfortunately only the circular concrete verge with a gear rim let in, which served the platform for the rotation, is present by this rare plant.
